A New Era Properly Of Downton Abbey Storylines

Thomas Barrow (Robert James-Collier) gets his happy ending in Downton Abbey: A New Era, which properly concludes one of Downton Abbey's oldest storylines. In A New Era, "the modern world comes to Downton" in the form of a film production shooting a movie in Downton Abbey. Meanwhile, several members of the Crawley family travel to the French Riviera to investigate a secret from Lady Violet's (Maggie Smith) "mysterious past." With Mr. Carson (Jim Carter) among those abroad, Barrow as butler tries to keep Downton in order while the house is invaded by filmmakers and movie stars like Guy Dexter (Dominic West). As a footman, Barrow was one of Downton Abbey's original villains. Along with Mrs. O'Brien (Siobhan Finneran), Barrow was a venal presence among Downton's servants, endlessly scheming and manipulating his coworkers. However, Barrow also had a tragic secret: as a gay man in the 1910s and 1920s, the footman feared he could be imprisoned if people

Garfield Animated Movie Casts Samuel L Jackson As New

Samuel L. Jackson joins the cast of the Chris Pratt-led animated Garfield movie at Sony Pictures as the titular lasagna lover's father. The cast for Chris Pratt's Garfield movie is beginning to grow as fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe star Samuel L. Jackson has joined the animated film reboot. The beloved orange cat first came to life in the comic strips created by Jim Davis in the late '70s that he briefly self-published before putting them into syndication worldwide. The Garfield comics center on the titular cat as he goes through life hating Mondays, loving lasagna and driving his human owner Jon Arbuckle and canine sibling Odie crazy. Garfield is one of the best-known comic strips in history, currently holding the Guinness World Record for the world's most widely syndicated comic strip. This success has in turn seen the character expand to various other mediums, including multiple TV shows, video games and two live-action films starring Bill Murray as Garfield. Foll

Chris Evans' Buzz Explores Alien Planet In New Lightyear Movie

Chris Evans' Buzz explores a mysterious alien planet in a new Lightyear movie image. First introduced in 1995's Toy Story, where he was voiced by Tim Allen, Buzz is set to get his very own standalone film with this summer's Lightyear. The film sees Evans take over as the voice of Buzz and chronicles the life of the astronaut/test pilot who would later inspire the Buzz Lightyear line of toys. Lightyear is directed by Angus MacLane, who is best known for his animation work on previous Pixar movies such as The Incredibles, Up, and Toy Story 3, as well as his co-directing work on Finding Dory. Initial trailers for the film have teased plenty of time travel, interstellar space flight, and planetary exploration, with Buzz even going through what appears to be a wormhole at one point. In addition to Evans as Buzz, Lightyear features a standout voice cast, including Keke Palmer, Dale Soules, Taika Waititi, Peter Sohn, Uzo Aduba, and James Brolin, who voices the iconic Emperor Zurg.

Black Panther 2 Star Describes How Chadwick Boseman

Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has explained how the late Chadwick Boseman was honored on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The first Black Panther film, which starred Boseman and was released in February 2018, was a massive success for Marvel Studios both critically and financially, so its sequel has been a major conversation topic for fans ever since. Boseman made his first appearance as T'Challa/Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War in 2016, while Wright first appeared as Shuri in the 2018 standalone film. Boseman and Wright later made appearances in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Boseman passed away in August 2020 from colon cancer, which he was first diagnosed with in 2016. He never spoke publicly about his illness; in fact, only a few people not in his family were aware of it. In light of Boseman's passing, Black Panther 2 director Ryan Coogler restructured the film to serve as the ultimate tribute to the la

Norman Reedus Reveals Bittersweet Reaction To The Walking Dead

Norman Reedus, who has played Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead for more than a decade, has a bittersweet reaction to the show coming to an end. First airing in 2010 on AMC, The Walking Dead quickly became a phenomenon, telling the story of a group of survivors led by former Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) who navigate the dangerous world of a zombie apocalypse. Although Rick has since left the show, Reedus' Daryl remains one of The Walking Dead's key characters and is even slated to get his own spinoff show, which is expected to be released next year. The Walking Dead left viewers with a tense cliffhanger in season 11, episode 16, with Lance (Josh Hamilton) and his soldiers taking over the three major communities of Hilltop, Commonwealth, and Oceanside before flipping a coin to decide the fate of Oceanside's residents. It's currently unknown how the series will wrap up but viewers can be assured that Daryl will survive whatever is to come since he will be getting hi

The Flash Season 8 Finale is The Biggest in Star

Danielle Panabaker, The Flash season 8 finale will be the biggest one in years. Since resuming in 2022, The Flash season 8 has introduced one of the darkest storylines in the show's run. Loosely based on the DC Comics storyline Blackest Night, The Flash season 8 has focused on the villainous Deathstorm as Team Flash's latest big bad. While fans saw the Earth-2 iteration of Deathstorm in The Flash season 2, this season did a more comic-accurate take on the foe, who has been portrayed mostly by Robbie Amell. The Deathstorm storyline is coming to a conclusion this week after last week's episode ended with another causality for Team Flash. While Killer Frost defeated Deathstorm, it came at a price as she passed away at the end of The Flash season 8, episode 13, "Death Falls." Even though the Arrowverse has sometimes had a fake-out or two when it comes to character deaths, Frost's death is sticking, with this week's episode, "Funeral for a Friend," se

Avatar 2's Pandora Already Looks So Much The First Movie's

Trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water reveals an even more amazing depiction of Pandora than the original Avatar. From returning writer-director James Cameron, the Avatar sequel is set to land in theaters on December 16, 2022. It's been 13 years since the historic success of the original, and Avatar 2 employs CGI and performance capture to an even greater extent than its groundbreaking predecessor. Avatar 2 is set to explore the aquatic side of Pandora, and the trailer already reveals the movie to be a monumental visual effects achievement. Indeed, the sequel already is surpassing the visual majesty of the first Avatar, with its trailer showing vast beachside Na'vi communities and the Na'vi trekking both above and below the water and interacting with the fantastic sea life of their world. The Na'vi themselves look amazing as ever in the Avatar 2 trailer, while the new creatures and settings are absolutely astonishing in the trailer. On top of those assets, the rendering

Doctor Strange 2's Illuminati Scene Sam Raimi

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness screenwriter Michael Waldron reveals that the Illuminati death scenes even shocked director Sam Raimi. Although the multiverse has previously been seen in the MCU in projects like Loki and December's wildly successful Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness takes the concept to an entirely new level. The film sees Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) face off against Wanda, aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), after she embarks on a deadly, universe-hopping quest to reunite with her two children by any means necessary. The subject of many rumors before the film's release, Marvel's Illuminati make their long-awaited MCU debut partway through the film, when Strange and America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) travel to Earth-838. The secretive group consists of Chiwetel Ejiofor as Mordo, John Krasinski as Reed Richards, Lashana Lynch as Captain Marvel, Hayley Atwell as Captain Carter, Anson Mount as Black Bolt, a

Star Trek: Picard's New Look At Detailed

Get their first detailed look at Star Trek: Picard’s USS Stargazer thanks to a new behind-the-scenes video. Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard recently came to an end with some major reveals, as well as goodbyes to old and new characters. The series is set to conclude with season 3, which has already been filmed, and end the long story of Jean-Luc Picard. When the final season hits screens, it will reunite the entire main cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation for the final time, though the details of that reunion remain under lock and key for now. In its opening episode, Star Trek: Picard season 2 introduced a new Starfleet vessel, captained by Santiago Cabrera’s Captain CristĂłbal Rios. That new Sagan-class vessel was the USS Stargazer, which was a newly commissioned version of the Constellation-class ship on which Jean-Luc Picard first became a Starfleet captain. The original USS Stargazer became a firm fan-favorite ship when it was seen throughout Star Trek: The Next Generation in the fo

Barry's 16th Century Chechen Tale Explains The Rest Of Season

Barry season 3, former handler Fuches, while hiding out in the mountains of Chechnya, hears an old 16th-century Chechen fable, which not only inspires Fuches to take revenge but also hints at the rest of the season's story. Fuches totally misses the point of Anna's story - that "revenge is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die." Tellingly, Anna's Chechen fable also parallels the fate of many of the characters in Barry season 3. In the fable, a man comes across a beautiful farmland in the Argun Gorge. The man kills the farmers who live there and takes the land, leaving the dead souls wandering his land in a state of purgatory. One day a mysterious creature appears to the souls and offers them a choice: seek vengeance and kill the man, or forgive the man and go to Heaven. All except one little boy chooses vengeance. The farmers souls become panthers who angrily kill the man who murdered them and took their lands, but their souls “went to the bot

Review All the Old Knives The Amazon Original

Espionage and romance; two things that do not mix in the real world however, when combined like in Amazon’s latest original film All the Old Knives, the result is a 110-minute real world thriller that is oozing with intrigue and sexual chemistry. When CIA reopens an investigation into a terrorist hijacking that resulted in the deaths of 120 people, agent Henry Pelham is assigned to lead the inquiry into his former colleagues. His focus shifts until landing on his former lover and former agent Celia Harrison. The film unfolds via flashback as Henry interrogates Celia over dinner and filling in the blanks of the events leading up to the tragedy.  Chris Pine and Thandiwe Newton share a rare chemistry that makes their relationship feel full formed. This relationship is the main draw to the film as the disjointed narrative is a device best left to the maestro of disjointed narratives, Christopher Nolan. All the Old Knives does manage to wrap up the loose threads by the end of the film but j

Trump Supporting JetBlue flight using Homophobic Slur and Ranting

A New Jersey couple was kicked off a JetBlue flight and escorted out of the airport last Sunday, per reports. A viral video shows the couple using a homophobic slur and ranting at flight attendants and passengers. In the footage, the couple claims they are being kicked off for supporting former President Donald Trump. A New Jersey couple was kicked off a JetBlue flight last Sunday after hurling a homophobic slur at passengers and ranting about everything from China to Elon Musk, according to reports. The woman, identified by the Daily Beast as former Broadway dancer Madeleine Kelly, was escorted off the flight with her husband — known only as "Gene." The couple, who described themselves in the video as Trump supporters, was then removed from West Palm Beach airport by law enforcement officers on Sunday afternoon, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, per the Daily Beast. Video footage of the incident, shared on TikTok and Reddit, shows Kelly gesticulating a

David Cronenberg Expects Walkouts Of New Movie

David Cronenberg expects walkouts within the first five minutes when his new movie Crimes of the Future plays at Cannes. Cronenberg of course gained a reputation as the master of body horror with masterpieces like Scanners, The Fly and Crash. But the Canadian director later moved away from the genre that made him famous to focus on prestige dramas like A History of Violence and Eastern Promises. Now with his latest film Crimes of the Future, Cronenberg has executed another career 180 and unexpectedly returned to the world of body horror. And horrific the movie indeed seems to be, as teased in a recent Crimes of the Future red band trailer. Starring frequent Cronenberg collaborator Viggo Mortensen, the movie concerns a performance artist who grows strange organs inside his body and puts his bizarre metamorphoses on display for the public. The movie co-stars Lea Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, Don McKellar and Scott Speedman. RELATED:  Every Movie Releasing In Summer 2022 Clearly Cronenberg ha

Filming Loki Season 2 Reportedly Begins

Tom Hiddleston and company will reportedly begin filming season 2 of Marvel Studios’ Loki next month. Last year, the Marvel Cinematic Universe made its way to Disney+ with shows like Loki, which dove into the multiverse by following Avengers: Endgame’s version of Hiddleston’s God of Mischief after being arrested by the Time Variance Authority (TVA). Rather than be pruned, Loki was recruited by Agent Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) to catch the Goddess of Mischief, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino). With scripts by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness scribe Michael Waldron, director Kate Herron’s six-episode Loki season 1 introduced audiences to the concept of variants, and alternate timelines and universes. After it’s revealed that the TVA’s Time-Keepers are nothing but mindless androids, Loki’s season 1 finale brought its heroes face-to-face with the TVA’s true mastermind: He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), a variant of the comic book character Kang the Conqueror aka Nathaniel Richards

The upcoming biographical drama Elvis, directed by acclaimed Australian director Baz Luhrmann, follows the life, legend, and career of iconic rock-n-roll singer and movie star Elvis Presley. Actor Austin Butler will be portraying the titular character, a role he nabbed after being considered alongside Harry Styles, Miles Teller, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, among other A-list actors. The highly anticipated Elvis film is adapted from a screenplay written by Luhrmann, Sam Bromell, Craig Pearce, and Jeremy Doner, with a story by Luhrmann and Doner. Accompanying Butler in the lead role includes Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla Presley, as well as Helen Thompson and Richard Roxburgh as Presley's mother and father. In addition to chronicling the

365 Days Is So Popular On Netflix

Netflix’s erotic thriller 365 Days and its sequel, 365 Days: This Day, are phenomenally popular on the streaming service despite the original movie having a dismal 0% rating on the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes. For years, popular romance franchises have struggled with critics but proved huge hits with audiences. For example, Twilight’s movie adaptations were derided as corny and contrived by reviewers but brought in hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office. At first glance, the critical failure and surprise streaming success of the 365 Days franchise look like a similar situation. An over-the-top guilty pleasure, the 365 Days movies are frequently — and not unreasonably —compared to the 50 Shades of Grey series, which was itself originally a work of Twilight fan-fiction. However, critics have found the 365 Days movies to be much more objectionable than most goofy but harmless romance fare. RELATED:  Why Ryan Reynolds Netflix Movies Are So Popular (Even If They'r

Captain America's Secret Replacement Revealed the Dark

Marvel Comics, Captain America’s super-soldier serum turned him into a hero that many aspire to be, but in the Ultimate Comics Universe, a secret replacement for Steve Rogers reveals a deadly truth about a special serum that doesn’t always work the way it’s supposed to. Revealed in 2005’s The Ultimates 2 Annual #1, by Mark Millar and Steve Dillon, this issue deals with a central idea of Captain America lore: his super-soldier serum. Following Nick Fury and a handful of costume-powered volunteers, this story also introduces a man named Lieberman that acts as a secret replacement for Cap should he ever die in battle or turn evil. RELATED: Marvel Proves There Should Always Be Two Captain Americas Bringing Lieberman in front of a replica of Cap’s costume and telling him he’s next in line if need be, it’s relayed to readers that Lieberman is the “first test subject in over fifty years whose body didn’t reject the super-soldier serum” - an impressive feat on its own, to say the least. Coca-Cola marketers add innovation

Coca-Cola plans to continue investing in its brands to navigate inflation this year while becoming even more effective with its marketing spend, the company said as it announced its first quarter results for 2022. This will mean leveraging work produced during the pandemic and being flexible with its investment mix at a local level, chief financial officer John Murphy said on a call with investors today (25 April). We are leveraging the work that we have been doing over the last couple of years to be even more effective in how we’re spending our marketing dollars, whether it’s on building our brand or on supporting our RTM [real-time marketing] efforts in the marketplace, he said. Murphy did not give specific details on how the company had changed its marketing investments since its last quarter, but said the investments within the business can vary depending on what [it] needs to do locally. In its results call for the final quarter of 2021, Coca-Cola had committed to increasing consu

Lets Play Wordle With Shots From Framed Your Favorite Movies

Wordle has taken the world by storm since the game's debut in late 2021. Its simple but addictive nature even caused The New York Times to buy it earlier this year. However, in recent weeks, the now popular word-based game has had some competition that movie fans have been going nuts over. Framed takes the concept of Wordle and applies it to movie images. Similar to that letter-based brain game, you get six frames from a single movie to try to win the round. However, unlike that game, you only get one guess per frame. Once you guess, the frame changes to a different shot from that same movie. That is either towards your benefit or detriment, depending on what image you get next - you can, however, go back and look at previous frames as you deliberate on your next guess. You do this six times until you either win or lose. Also, just like with Wordle, you can view your stats like your winning streak and share them on your various social media pages. It is also important to note that

Rittenhouse's previous work includes playing Ainsley Howard in Hulu's Four Weddings and a Funeral, Dr. Anna Ziev in Fox's The Mindy Project, and Cody LeFever in ABC's Blood & Oil. Joining her in the series will be David Del Rio. According to Deadline, Rio will play Ben, who is described as the opposite of Maggie, but also has a romantic side. Outer Range Going On Autumn

Autumn's true goals in Outer Range are still unknown, but episodes 5 and 6 reveal an important part of her plans. While she initially presented herself as a poet seeking inspiration, Autumn's journey was actually about the void and Royal's family. While many Outer Range theories help explain who Autumn is, the show still hasn't given a definitive answer. So far, Outer Range has chosen to highlight how differently Royal and Autumn perceive the void. For Josh Brolin's character, the hole in the middle of his ranch is cause for panic, self-doubt, and anguish. For Autumn, the void represents the legitimation of some type of dream or desire for a higher power. It is through this difference in the perception of the void that Outer Range creates an interesting conflict between its two main characters. Autumn's enthusiasm for the void already indicated that she would not rest until she achieved her goals. Now, Outer Range reveals that Autumn is not working alone. In epi

Obi-Wan Kenobi Has Rating For Live Star Wars

Obi-Wan Kenobi will have the lowest age rating so far amongst live-action Star Wars series. The highly-anticipated series, starring Ewan McGregor back in his iconic role as Obi-Wan, is just under a month away from its May 27 premiere date. It's set to follow Obi-Wan in the midst of his exile on Tatooine as he struggles between watching over Luke Skywalker and helping to protect the galaxy around him. The inclusion of Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) and his "ruthless" Inquisitors has set expectations for a tense and thrilling series. The first trailer for the series even showed a villager's hanging feet as the Inquisitor Reva seemed to be interrogating fellow townspeople about Force-sensitive beings, which raises the stakes even more for a Jedi like Obi-Wan. If Reva stays hot on Obi-Wan's trail as he ventures off-world on a mission, then it's assumed that danger will follow close behind him. The duel between Obi-Wan and Vader that's been teased for some ti

Lion King 2019 Reused 1994 Dialogue

YouTube channel YourMovieSucksDOTOrg has suggested that the 2019 reboot of The Lion King reused James Earl Jones's dialogue from the original 1994 film, despite the director saying otherwise. Jones reprised the role of Mufasa for the 2019 remake of the classic 1994 animated feature. The remake was directed by Jon Favreau and starred Donald Glover, Beyoncé, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, and Seth Rogen alongside Jones. Disney animated classics like Cinderella, The Jungle Book, and Beauty and the Beast, 2019's The Lion King aimed to reimagine the beloved 1994 film in a more grounded, realistic style. Rather than depicting its Pride Lands in a cartoonish, animated style, Favreau's take on the Disney Renaissance classic reimagined the characters of Simba (Glover), Nala (Beyoncé), Timone (Eichner), Pumba (Rogen), and Scar (Ejiofor) with more realistic designs. Despite earning an impressive box office gross, the film was contentious among critics, though The Walt Disney Company
